I got a chance to resume my quest to try every Jamba Juice today. Things were dicey for a while there, as it seemed like they changed the menu every time I visited. But I’m ready to get back into things, and I tried the Strawbery Whirl this afternoon.

At first I thought it was going to be toor sour, like the Strawberry Surf Rider, but that turned out to not be the case. Becasue this smoothie only has banana, strawberry, and apple in it, it’s not nearly as strong a taste as my usual drink, the Protein Berry Workout. But, that said, the naturalness of this drink is a very welcome change from the PBW’s somewhat industrial-food flavor. I can’t really detect any of the banana, but the apple and strawberry flavors are terrific. The texture is both smoother and more substantial than I expected, which are good things, in my opinion.

This is probably the first smoothie in this project to really impress me. I can easily imagine this becoming an alternate for me when I’m not in the mood for the soy milk and protein powder they put in the PBW.

After the too-sour-for-me Strawberry Surf Rider, I decided to see what I thought of Ted’s favorite Jamba Juice. The Banana Berry’s description at my local JJ claims that it is “sweet”, but when a drink shares a menu with the Protein Berry Workout, I think it has to be pretty darn sweet before it gets the “sweet” label. My first impression of this drink is that it does not live up to the Protein Berry Workout standard of sweet. I’m also not a big raspberry fan, so those two factors probably take this drink off the table for me in the future. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it is and I also think it would be a candidate for the best drink at a store other than Jamba Juice.

Sorry Ted, you’ll have to enjoy your favorite Jamba Juice without me.

I started my journey through Jamba Juice’s menu today with a Strawberries Wild. My first thoughts are that it is thinner than Protein Berry Workout (my previous main drink at JJ) and that I seem to be getting more cold-induced headaches drinking it. Otherwise, it is delicious.

I love Jamba Juice, but I am way too conservative with my menu choices there. I have probably had about 100+ Protein Berry Workouts there in a row. So, in order to expand my horizons, I am inaugurating my “30+ Days of Jamba Juice” project. This project will have me trying a new drink every time I go to Jamba Juice, until I have exhausted the menu at my local store. I will also try to post about each drink, possibly with a photo.

I counted about 30 or so drinks there this morning, hence, “30+ days”. The days may or may not be consecutive, but every time I go to Jamba Juice, I’m going to have a brand new drink. This should be fun, and I bet I’ll have a new favorite drink by the time I’m done.
