Moving forward, in reverse

As I slowly make my workflow more efficient, I’m incorporating more command line technologies in my day to day life. Examples include shifting more text editing away from Textmate and toward emacs and declining to use Time Machine and using a combination of git and rsync for version control and backup. I’m not sure where it’s all going, and what might be next in this transition, but I definitely seem to be happier using more bare-bones tools as I better understand what, exactly, I’m doing with this machine.
